Survey for ISE Professionals about Science Fairs

April 20th, 2016

About the Overall Study
Science Fairs Under the ā€˜Scope (funded by NSF DRL-1421112) is a national study of middle school (grade 6-8) science fairs. Through a nation-wide survey of science fair coordinators, and an in-depth study of 40 middle school science fairs (to occur in the 2016-17 school year), the project seeks to learn about the variety of middle school science fair models; whether and how science fairs increase studentsā€™ interest in STEM and enhance studentsā€™ mastery of the science and engineering practices; and what costs and resources are required to implement an effective middle school science fair.

Do you work at an Informal Institution?
As part of this study, the Science Fairs Under the ‘Scope project is very interested in learning about the relationships between schools and informal institutions, specifically around science education and science fairs. Note: The project is looking for input from all informal institutions, even those that have no involvement with science or science fairs. The survey closes June 1, 2016.
