Developing an evaluation report can be challenging. Happily, there are dedicated evaluation professionals who use their expertise to help the community produce the best reporting that they can. EvaluATE is the evaluation support center for the National Science Foundation’s Advanced Technological Education program. The center produces tools for the ATE community to help guide people through the process of data collection planning and evaluation report writing.
EvaluATE’s newest offering is the Program Evaluation Report Content checklist. The checklist was developed to address a need for practical guidance about what should go in a traditional evaluation report—the most common means of communicating evaluation results. Development of the checklist was informed by the authors’ experience, academic literature, and evaluation guidance documents; as well as, feedback from 20 evaluators in academia and 23 practitioners.
