STEM Next, in partnership with Verizon™, has launched a new set of free STEM Learning Journeys designed specifically for afterschool programs. These Learning Journeys are turnkey bundles of lessons and activities hosted on Verizon’s Innovative Learning HQ platform and optimized for flexible implementation in afterschool settings.

Programs can now access four Learning Journeys covering topics youth care about today, including AI, nature & sustainability, space, and engineering. Afterschool programs that complete the Nature & Sustainability Learning Journey can also qualify for a stipend of $500–$1,500, based on the number of young people engaged. Stipends are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis while funds last.

Available STEM Learning Journeys:

  • AI, Ethics & Real-World Use (Grades 5–8)
  • Nature & Sustainability (Grades 3–8)
  • Space, Orbits & Engineering (Grades 4–9)
  • Tech Makers: Circuits & Prototyping (Grades 4–9)

This opportunity is designed for afterschool and out-of-school-time program providers and staff, including site coordinators, facilitators, and program directors.
