The National Science Foundation (NSF) is excited to announce a new Dear Colleague Letter (DCL) inviting supplemental funding requests (up to $25,000) from current NSF awardees in the Directorate for STEM Education. This DCL is designed specifically to support the Presidential Initiative on Advancing Artificial Intelligence Education for American Youth.
The deadline for submission of supplemental funding requests is November 7, 2025
NSF will host an informational webinar and office hours to share details about this DCL and answer questions from the community. The dates and registration link are below:

This DCL AI Challenge supplemental funding is to help create and support K-12 Artificial Intelligence Teams that will engage students and educators in participating in AI learning experiences for the challenges. Project teams are expected to engage schools, industries, nonprofits, communities, challenge volunteers, or other partners in the Presidential AI Youth Challenge, providing mentorship and technical support in real-world problem contexts.
