Host: ARIS
The ARIS (Advancing Research Impact in Society) Research Fellowship Program is designed to support and advance the careers of exceptional researchers in expanding their Broader Impacts work. This inaugural fellowship aims to foster innovation, develop leadership skills, and enhance the understanding of how researchers can extend and communicate their research for societal benefits, often called Broader Impacts (BI). The goals of the fellowship program are to: 1) expand researcher’s BI work, 2) strengthen their network of other researchers who are interested in strengthening their Broader Impacts, and 3) disseminate effective BI practices through publications and presentations by fellows.
This unique fellowship program will provide researchers with opportunities to network with peers and BI professionals to discuss broader impacts, strategies and innovations. As part of this program, ARIS Research Fellows will:
- Engage in learning opportunities with ARIS professionals to develop a research impact plan and profile. Fellows will start by participating in a BI Identity two-day professional development workshop with science communicators to develop their own broader impact stories.
- Network with colleagues and ARIS professionals to compare BI experiences and success stories and refine and share their BI stories.
- Have an opportunity to reflect on their BI projects, identities, and experiences to share what they have learned through presentations and journal publications.
Application deadline: April 18, 2025
