The Museum of Science, Boston and Boston University received funding from the National Science Foundation to develop and implement a pilot program mentoring high school students in science research, communication, and education practices, through the lens of experimental psychology research. The project's evaluation explored how participation in programmatic elements contributed to changes in youth identity across 3 key dimensions - 1) interest and affinity, 2) skills and self-efficacy, and 3) belonging and community.
This evaluation report highlights findings from the second cohort of students that participated in the program curriculum, and implications for future iteration by the project team.
