Host: Polar STEAM (Oregon State University)

In Summer 2023 through early 2024, Polar STEAM researchers and educators will collaborate virtually. Researchers may be field-based, conducting remote data monitoring, or a combination of both. Educators will participate virtually. In subsequent years, Polar STEAM will add field-based collaborations in both the Arctic and Antarctic, open applications to artists and writers (Antarctic only), and will continue virtual partnerships. Polar STEAM aims to inspire transdisciplinary collaboration about the polar regions, integrating arts, education, and science-based methods to promote critical thinking, engagement, and accessible and inclusive opportunities for learners of all ages. The program works with researchers across all research disciplines support by NSF including the social sciences.

Applications are open for 2023 virtual collaboration and had a priority deadline of March 31, 2023. Applications are continuing to be accepted on a rolling basis.
