The Education department is seeking a full-time Director, Children and Family Learning (CFL) to lead CFL’s out-of-school time (OST) programming children ages Pre-K to 5th grade and their families. The Director’s scope includes developing, maintaining and managing and effective team to carry out CFL’s work and developing and implementing long-term strategy for children’s learning and family engagement at the Museum.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- In partnership with the Senior Director, develop and implement long-term strategy for CFL, advancing the Museum’s mission and strategic plan.
Deepen the CFL staff’s sense of community and belonging. - Cultivate relationships with local and national institutions to develop new joint funding/programming opportunities.
- Supervise departmental Assistant Directors, Senior Managers, Managers and administrative staff.
- Support program design, staff assignments and allocation of resources.
- Lead the development of profit and loss statements, annual budget development, monitoring and revenue projections.
- Directly manage part-time departmental staff.
- Engage in ongoing cultivation/relationship building with program participants.
- Collaborate with Museum leadership on crafting proposals and completing reports.
The expected salary range for the Director, Children and Family Learning is $140,000/annual – $155,000/annual. The AMNH offers an extensive benefits package designed to meet the needs of our dedicated and diverse community.
