NSF Webinar Designing For Making In Drop-In Spaces

January 13th, 2015

On January 29 from 12:30 – 1:30 PM ET, the National Science Foundation is hosting a webinar called Learning as a long game: Designing for making in drop-in spaces. This webinar is part of the Cyberlearning series.

From the NSF site: “As the maker movement becomes a valuable and interesting resource for researchers interested in improving learning in and out of schools, researchers in the Cyberlearning community have turned toward understanding and designing maker-based experiences. Many of these research efforts have focused on spaces that have typically served as drop-in sites for learners—museums, libraries, and afterschool programs. Given that learning is an extended process of becoming and doing, how can we support learners’ trajectories as makers? What function can technologies serve for learners, for mentors, and for spaces?”

The webinar will be presented by Erica Halversen, Associate Professor of Digital Media and Literacy in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Register for this free webinar before January 28 to participate.
