Letters to the Next President 2.0

The National Writing Project, along with KQED and a range of public media partners, are sponsoring a mass youth publishing website called Letters to the Next President 2.0 (L2P2) during the fall election season. This website provides an opportunity for any educator, in formal or informal settings, to publish a piece of writing, video, image or podcast from youth in your program where young people argue to the issue/issues that they believe the next President must pay attention to in the next four years. During the first iteration of Letters to the Next President in 2008, many young people wrote about science-related topics and we would love to see that happen again in 2016.  For more information, visit the staging site at Letters2President.org where educators can sign up for information about the project and find resources to help them support young people in creating their letter next fall. There is a video at the top of the page that introduces the project. We encourage you to pass this along to educators in your projects.   Finally, we welcome you to explore with us whether you have resources and open learning opportunities for educators that would benefit them in this project. We are eager to use the project as a way to engage more people in your great work.
